Help is provided for choosing a breast pump that will be best for your needs and contacting your insurance company to see what pumps are included in your plan.  What to Expect

Once you contact me and we schedule a consultation, you will be given a few forms and consents to fill out prior to your visit. The intake form will ask important questions about you and your baby’s health and medical history and ask you to explain the reason for your consultation. It is very important to fill out the forms completely ahead of time. This gives me a better understanding of the whole picture and allows me to focus on just you and the baby once we are together. During your post natal consultation, we will address your concerns, assess a feeding, do pre-feeding and post-feeding weight checks, and work together to develop a care plan for you and your baby. If you wish, reports can be sent to you and your baby’s physicians. Payment is due prior to our consultation. Most insurance companies reimburse for lactation support. Please contact your insurance company to review your benefits. Superbills will be provided, upon request, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursements are not guaranteed and are the responsibility of the client. If you find yourself in need of support but worried about how you will pay, please reach out to me and we can work together to find a payment plan that is manageable for you. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to appointment are subject to a $50 fee. This fee is not covered by insurance and a bill will be mailed to you for payment. All services provided are not refundable.

How to prepare for your visit

Please try to feed your baby 1.5-2 hours before our appointment. This way baby will not be overly hungry and unhappy but will still want to eat when I am there. If your baby is looking for another feeding before I arrive, top them off with some milk, but try not to provide a full feeding. Keep yourself comfortable and in the surroundings you normally feed in. This could include staying in your pajamas with all you breastfeeding pillows and supplies nearby. Also, make a list of all your questions so we can be sure to address them all. It is always helpful to have a spouse, partner, or family member at the appointment so they can learn how to assist you and your baby during a feed. Its also good to have a second pair of ears. If you use a pump, please have all flanges and attachments available so we can make sure it is being used correctly. Please do not clean your house for me. I am a mom of five children and my house will never be perfectly clean and some days it is downright a disaster. I am coming to focus on you and your baby. I will not be looking at the dishes you didn’t get to or the laundry that is piling up. Your only job is to be snuggling and feeding that new precious baby. I am so excited to meet you and your little one!
